Budget Recipes

Why would a Bankruptcy Attorney talk about Budget Recipes? We are all trying to save money! It was a special day, an uncle had done well and to celebrate, his older sister offered to prepare his favorite dish. Upset, he rejected the dish because it was not like the watery stew that she used to make for him. She fixed the dish by adding water. While he enjoyed his watery stew, she explained that the dish was not supposed to be watery. For years and out of necessity, making the dish watery allowed her to feed more than 10 people at their home.

I hope the following Recipe Websites are enjoyable and useful to you. As with any dish, adjust the recipes to fit the flavors that your family likes and make it your own.

Bankruptcy = Restarting Your Life

I Am Here For You.
I have knowledge and experience working for both the Debtors’ and the Creditors’ sides. Knowledge about Creditors allows me to better protect my Debtor Clients.

Several years ago, I was in Bankruptcy Court working for a Creditor. I was talking to a Debtor, who was a Second Gulf War Veteran, an all-American kind of guy, smart, handsome, young, and heartbroken. Upon his return from his service at the Gulf, his father and his child died within a few months of each other- that is when his life spiraled.

I said,” Thank you for your service and I am so sorry for your loss. I want you to know that you are not alone. Please don’t beat yourself up over this. We are all here to help sort your finances. After what you have been through, anyone could be in your (financial) situation.”

He saw me as his enemy. Angry at himself, and embarrassed, he lashed out, “Don’t you dare be nice to me!”

I said, “I am just telling you the truth.”

This Veteran, who had faced death too many times, looked at me straight in the eye said, “Thank you for what you said.”

I said, “You are welcome. It will get better and I wish you and your family all the best.”

Bankruptcy is Not A Sin and is Not Failure.

Be Like This Veteran:

  •  Let Go of the Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Guilt, and Denial.

  •  You Have The Strength and The Discipline To Take Control and To Rebuild Your Life.

Together We Will Fight For Your Financial Freedom.

Recently, we have been made aware of a telephone scam involving individuals who file for bankruptcy. We wanted to forward a personal caution about these recent scams, where scammers are masking their telephone numbers to appear to be those of your bankruptcy attorney.

Should I really be filing for Bankruptcy?

Should I really be filing for Bankruptcy?

How to tell if you should really be filing for bankruptcy.
I once filed a Bankruptcy for a single mom, who brought her 4-year-old son to my office. My client explained to her son why they had to be there. After two hours of work, the little boy quietly played with his video game and a few times, he respectfully interrupted and would ask his mom a question. As I stepped out of my office for a few minutes, I asked my client if it was ok for her son to have some chocolates that were in a bowl on my side table. She said yes.
