Bankruptcy = Restarting Your Life

I Am Here For You.
I have knowledge and experience working for both the Debtors’ and the Creditors’ sides. Knowledge about Creditors allows me to better protect my Debtor Clients.

Several years ago, I was in Bankruptcy Court working for a Creditor. I was talking to a Debtor, who was a Second Gulf War Veteran, an all-American kind of guy, smart, handsome, young, and heartbroken. Upon his return from his service at the Gulf, his father and his child died within a few months of each other- that is when his life spiraled.

I said,” Thank you for your service and I am so sorry for your loss. I want you to know that you are not alone. Please don’t beat yourself up over this. We are all here to help sort your finances. After what you have been through, anyone could be in your (financial) situation.”

He saw me as his enemy. Angry at himself, and embarrassed, he lashed out, “Don’t you dare be nice to me!”

I said, “I am just telling you the truth.”

This Veteran, who had faced death too many times, looked at me straight in the eye said, “Thank you for what you said.”

I said, “You are welcome. It will get better and I wish you and your family all the best.”
